Detailed description of The Sanctuary at Wulfert Point
The Sanctuary at Wulfert Point is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Sanibel Island, Florida.
The Sanctuary first opened for play in 1993. The course was designed by Arthur Hills.
Key Design Features:
* Course carved into dense tropical island vegetation
* Generous landing areas with a premium on green approaches
* Although a residential course, very few homes are obvious when golfing
* Several forced carries over wetland and native vegetation
This is a narrow course with typical Florida flat terrain with some mounding. The medium-sized greens have average speed and are undulating. The course winds for 6,657 yards around preserves and lakes, providing panoramic views of the Pine Island Sound and mangrove forests.
Watch out for # 9, the 569-yard par-5 challenge is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at The Sanctuary at Wulfert Point Golf Course is # 16, the 157 yard par-3. The course has 4 sets of tees to accommodate different skill levels.
